Matthew and Janin.

The story of how Matt and I met and got engaged is pretty cool. We met on our second day of university at UTS, in our first ever tutorial. I was early, sitting outside of class waiting for it to begin. This tall, handsome guy walks up the stairs and I thought to myself that I was going to try to sit near him in class so we could be put in a team together for group work. We did and we became really great friends although I always had a crush on him. It wasn’t until he left uni to become an electrician that we got together as a couple...and as the cliché goes, the rest was history. We were together for just under 7 years when he proposed. Although we bought an apartment together in Coogee a few years earlier and we knew that we would always eventually be married, I had no idea it was coming. Even with the ring, every Saturday he would put on his work gear and pretend to go to a job in Paddington, but he was actually visiting the jeweller to look at diamonds. He proposed by tricking me into going to the place where we first met, at the very same tutorial room at UTS. He confessed later that it took months of planning. He told me to meet him at UTS after work so we could go out to dinner…when I arrived, he was there in a dapper outfit, with the ring, down on one knee. So awesome.'

NATURAL. SPONTANEOUS. EMOTIVE.

Looking at images that make me remember and evoke emotion is as close to it gets to reliving the moment. Capturing emotive imagery truly is an art form.

MY

STORY

I wish I had the time to blog every wedding I photograph. I certainly value how lucky I am to have a chance to play apart in all http://www.vauclusehousetearooms.com.au) - a Photographed in February this year Janine & Matthew had their wedding at the beautiful Vaucluse house Sydney Australia Upon arriving to document getting ready moments in the morning; I was blown away by the amazing floral setup, I was continually impressed as the day unfolded experiencing the amazing job done by Oh Me Oh My Botanica | |www.ohmeohmybotanica.com.auIf I where asked what type of wedding I like to photograph this would be it.The beautiful hair style and make up perfectly matched the amazing dress and flora setup, helping to make Janine look like an angel as she walk towards her soon to be husband.

As she walked up the Isle, the bride was surrounded by smiling faces covered in tears, and The Dress ( ) what can I say, I was blown away! I hope for the pleasure of photographing more dresses designed by Suzanne all the way from Melbourne Australia.https://www.facebook.com/SuzanneHarwardDesignPhotographing along side the extremely creative and passionate, Bree and Brooke from light noise films ( videographers) was also a fun, creative experience. Their shooting style and creativity made me feel we were one big team.Marko from ( ) and myself had a ball at this wedding, I don't think there is a wedding that goes by that a client doesn't mention how hard Marko has worked on their big day, always a pleaser to work with him.

My approach

I documented this day with a photojournalistic approach, being a 'fly on the wall' allowing the day to flow naturally; I truly love challenging my self to become better at candid natural photographic techniques. I am now based back in Newcastle N.S.W, however I still document weddings in Melbourne and everywhere else.

I am absolutely invigorated by the beauty and enthusiasm at the bridal prep just before the wedding ceremony.

As the bride strides down the aisle, her father beams with pride.
